Statewide Waterway Improvement Unit
The Statewide Waterway Improvement Unit is responsible for dredging all of the waters managed by the Division, as well as some contracted areas on Lake Erie, in order to keep them navigable and safe for boaters. The unit handles many water-related projects such as weed harvesting, launch ramp improvements, hazard removal, and sediment trap maintenance. The unit is evaluated by report cards for each project completed. Areas including timeliness, value, appearance, professionalism, and communication are rated in order to offer positive or constructive feedback to the supervisor and personnel.
