Waterway and Construction Section

About the Project Request Form

The Project Request Form is used by the section to identify, plan and schedule waterway & construction projects. The form is designed to be user friendly; park management only needs to complete the top portion. Simply provide the park name, date of request, a brief description of the project, and identify a park contact person. Then, you can e-mail the request to south.construction.parks@dnr.state.oh.us.

Once received, a project number is designated and the project is assigned to one of the statewide crews. If necessary, an on-site review is scheduled. At that time, in addition to the traditional construction project review issues, consideration is given to the need for a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for construction sites and implementation of the Department’s Internal Environmental Review (IER) process. While the statewide unit is responsible for the NPDES permit, park management is responsible for initiating the IER, as necessary. There may also be a need to consider Corps 404 & OEPA 401 regulations, as well as state and local health department and OEPA construction site debris regulations.

As part of our service to park management, Waterway and Construction Section personnel will advise you to the best of their ability regarding these technical issues. Whether or not an on-site review is needed, you will be contacted and advised of the status of your request.

The Project Request Form is in Microsoft Word (.doc) format.
