Ohio's Two Most Important Forest Threats:

Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB)
In mid-June, 2011, this non-native invasive pest was discovered infesting maple trees in Bethel, Ohio (Clermont County).  Federal, state, and local agencies are now dealing with this multi-genus eating beetle.  read more

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)
If not stopped here and now, it will spread across the Midwest and though our nations hardwood forests, killing off ash as a managed species. The loss of ash would have a dramatic ecological and economical impact. read more
